I only played a rack or two with each cue and I also realize that two cues of the same model and weight from the same manufacturer can and usually do feel slightly different and sometimes very different.
$49 Rage SP 19oz: fairly stiff(medium stiff) hit and fairly solid feel, but not as stiff as I like and not as solid as I like. Probably a fairly good cue for $49.
$65 Rage with Implex joint 19oz: Played like a 58" rubber hose. Hated it.
$89 McDermott Lucky 18oz: Relatively stiff hit compared to the other four cues I test hit today, but not very solid feeling and poor workmanship. The ferrule had a small gap where it met the shaft and the shaft felt like a raw 2x4. The finish of the shaft was by far the worst of the 5 cues.
$110 Players E-3100 I believe? Wrapless 20oz. Best looking cue of the 5. Very solid feel, but medium to medium stiff hit. Not as stiff as I like, but felt like a quality built cue. Probably would have liked it a little more if it was a little lighter weight.
$150 HXT20 18oz: medium stiff feel which was slightly stiffer feeling but not as solid feeling as my 18oz HXT4 that I paid $90 for. Not a bad cue, but I think I liked the $110 E-3100 with the non HXT shaft a little more.
$395 Lucasi Hybrid 19oz: $245 more than the second highest price cue I test hit today. I liked the feel and playability of this cue the most of the 5 I test hit today, but not more than 250% or more more. I hated the rubber grip. The hit had a high quality medium stiff feel but the grip had a made for Walmart feel. If somebody gave me this cue, I would probably sell it and keep looking. I hated the grip that much.
Don't beat me up for sharing my observations. Just sharing my honest experience I had today while it's fresh in my mind.
