5 hour energy drink

I see 5 hour energy drink advertised all the time on TV, as some miracle product. The other day I was at the gas station, it was on the counter for $3.99/Mini Bottle? Dose?, and I said to myself, what is in this magic potion that is worth $4.00 BUCK.

Hi MeausureMan ...

Just a quick reply to your post on 5-Hour Energy drinks based on coments from a friend of mine who uses them regularly.

My friend says that the 5-Hour Energy drinks just give you a lift to barely above normal, but do not make you jittery like most energy drinks. He especialy likes to drink one if he has not gotten all the sleep he needs. He really swears by them.

Myself, I had a medical appointment in a city 90 miles from where I live. I had slept poorly the night before and had got out of the appointment just in time for the local rush hour which became brutal on the drive home.

I had to play league with my team later that evening and was in a rush myself to get out of there and back home to pick up my cue-n-case to then get to the league site for that night.

I finally broke out of the bulk of the traffic and stopped at a truck stop for coffee as I was quite tired. While at the counter I noticed the famous 5-Hour Energydisplay there. I decided to try one. The pricing was such that a twosome was a better deal. I bought two and took off realizing that I only had enough time to get to the league site, not home first for my equipment.

After drinking some coffe, I opened one of the 5-hour energy drinks. Uggggggg, what a bad taste it had. I swallowed the rest of it without tasting and followed it up with coffeee!

To bring this story to a stop, I made it to the league location in time and played quite good with a friend's cue that we shared.

I gave the other 5-Hour Energy to my friend mentioned earlier, and will try to get better sleep rather than have to go trough that bad taste again!~

Today I tried it for the first time.Only played for 5 hours non competitive.
1-I was a little sharper mentally.
2- I normally have a medium warm up stroke then slow it down as i pull the trigger.
3-After the 5 hour drink my warm up strokes approached warp speed.
4-Sean- If I ran a couple laps around the parking lot 911 would be called(fitness issue)
5-Fatboy I am truly using the Pechauer.I still think the Cocobolo Lucasi is the better looking cue but the Pechauer is far superior in feel and hit.
6-The drink did help a little. But I wonder if it will help out more when I'm in those 12 hour tournaments.

I used to drink 5 hour energy all the time and the decaf is the best for an intense workout. For anything less than an intense workout you can actually benefit from the caffeine. My doctor said the amount of caffeine in a single cup of coffee can help increase your workout efficiency quite a bit.

Caffeine from tea is the least jitter-inducing kind out there. I used to drink an Inko's white tea energy drink every once in a while... but I've started drinking a ton of black tea instead, and it's working great. I have a 2 year old so I'll drink a bunch of tea the day after a poor night of sleep. The heat and the mild caffeine will wake me up for a solid hour... and I'll just keep making more tea throughout the day.

If I didn't have time to make tea I'd just keep ordering Inko's white tea energy. That stuff is a life-saver when you have a baby :p

WOW... if I was to write a new post to this thread I would copy and paste this as to what I do every day! I quit drinking coffee and went to black tea! no jitters, and a couple hours of good thinking!

glad someone else is having good results from the regimine!
