The event is posted in the Tournament Announcemnt section. I posted here because of the different rules. Comments are welcome.

Rules:

No Conflict Rules for racking & breaking will be used.

Standard Gold Crown dimension pockets.

No short games. Shooter spots the 9 at either end and continues.

Fouls on all balls.

There are no referees.

No conceding games. (penalty is loss of game and the next game)

Nothing new: Call nothing.

TOURNAMENT DETAILS

In addition, I discontinued use of double elimination 2 1/2 years ago. Every event fills.

In tandem to the regulation-table Nine-Ball event, we are also running a bar-table Eight-Ball tournament for the regulars and locals. We run our Eight-Ball tournaments with the same rules we use for Nine-Ball. To date, we have run 89 Eight-Ball tournaments with these rules. Here they are.

No Conflict Rules for racking and breaking
No calling balls, not even the 8-ball
No short games, 8-ball spots at either end, incoming player's choice
Someone must legally pocket the 8-ball to win the game
Fouls on all balls
No conceding the game

The rules are easy and simple. They all work to the advantage of the better player while at the same time, make the game more fun for everyone. As I have said before, Nine-Ball is the most fun game of all time for the good player. I have had success interjecting some of that fun into Eight-Ball.
