I'm with you, Mark. I love the piloted 5/16-14 joint - steel or not, but I prefer steel. I wish more makers would offer more of them. I just don't care for the big pins.
Doesn't involve a shovel and a bag of Lyme, does it??

I wish I could say "Piloted steel just FEELS better." .....but I don't have the pool skills necessary to back up that statement!
I'll just say that...of the 100+ cues I've owned, the majority I REALLY liked were piloted steel. There ARE a couple exceptions to that rule, of course. There always are!
My very first Callaluca cue was one of those exceptions. I bought it from Joe (Bamacues), and ran the very first rack we played with it (no, really...ask Joe!!!).
Dare I say it??? ----- I NEVER SHOULD HAVE SOLD THAT CUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This cue is an awesome example of c l e a n execution. I love it when points are cut like this, and so exacting as well....
What's the going rate and turnover time on something like this?
I'd love to see the wood at the C & D positions on this piece; I wonder how all the grains come together in figured coco.

No joint? I like black phenolic joint without rings like on some sneaky petes. Gorgeous cue.
