This story is over 3mos. old. All these details were covered in the first week. Sorry you live under a rock, buddy.

Im just thankful that where I live you are not next door

The Czar’s point is a valid one.....
...I hit AZ’SEARCH’ and stopped counting at 25threads that talked about
John’s 626......AZ has a lotta info....if you don’t mind reading

Sorry I asked

Sorry I asked

AZ is a treasure trove of billiard information.
Justin Collett of TAR fame called it the pool wikipedia...
...so I’m bringing that to your, and everybody else’s, attention.
There’s a lot of fascinating info in those threads....

Just hit AZsearch and type 626...even post on one and bring it to the top.

Just out of curiosity. how do you even find a table with 5" pockets?

I would love to play on one.

In my copy of the World Standardized Rules as published by the BCA in 2007 pockets are specified to be:
Corner Pocket Width: minimum 4-7/8", maximum 5-1/8"
Side Pocket Width: minimum 5-3/8", maximum 5-5/8"

I'm not at all sure when the WPA changed the specifications but I'll go out on a limb and say that If you have played on a 12 year old table (or likely less) you have played on a table that left the factory with 5" pockets. I'm absolutely certain that my 37 year old GC III had 5" pockets until I had them reworked to 4-3/8" last year. I've never played on a Diamond bar box but I'm certain that I've never seen or played on a 7' table with less than 5" pockets. Some are measurably larger than that.

Thanks for a nice response. I have played for 50 years, can still run 30at age70.
just see no reason for someone to say nasty things in response to a legitimate
question. By the way I was friendly with the late Grady Matthews, probably more
than the CZAR can say. I will not post another thread on this forum ever,

Over 68,000 people have joined AZ.....we aren’t always gonna get along.
...and actually, Garczar is one of the guys who does some valuable searching for us...
...I always read his posts.

Good to hear from a fiend of Grady....I miss him a lot...we looked out for each other.
...he always brought me a carton of Camels when he crossed the border.

I always use the SEARCH function first. If that doesn't work i'll ask a question. I guess i've developed "forum thick skin", i don't get butt-hurt too easy. I can give the needle and take it. All part of forum life. BTW, in case anybody's wondering he used this cue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1huQjKy2vY

our own Russian group

yeah, let's go search through a few million worthless posts to find something interesting. You gotta love that 22 pages one. Go search, smh, what they want to say is shhh, we want it to be quiet, people are not happy about it the lack of real evidence.

Just ignore them. Think of them as our own Russian group but with pool, not politics.

The Pocket size talk.

As stated on https://bca-pool.com/page/54 Professional use means WPA standards.
https://wpapool.com/equipment-specifications/#Pocket-Openings-and-Measurements

The sizes you mentioned are for recreational tables.
See https://cdn.ymaws.com/bca-pool.com/resource/resmgr/imported/BCAEquipmentSpecifications_2008.pdf

I guess that gives new meaning to he did it on his home table.

I, for one, do understand your beef with some of the people on this site, recently retired, i started to try and contribute more to the site - but i too have decided recently that my time , for the most part, is not well spent here- and for the same reasons you point out, There are are a few people on this site who seem to consider themselves the police of AZ and also some who come across as ready to beat down any OPINIONS that other people may have on various billiard topics- instead of engaging in meaningful discussions- those few people here have made it, in my opinion, a place that is unwelcoming to those whom they deem "outside of a select group" - I too am tired of DEFENDING as opposed to CONTRIBUTING - and will highly limit my comments on this site going forward. I have been a big supporter here, even buying four cues in the past 18 months from four AZ members for my small collection, spending over $4500.
You asked a simple question here and all that was needed was an accurate response- if someone here does not like your question- they should just NOT respond at all and let someone else extend a response as you asked originally- getting along in life is that simple- but a FEW people here want to ruin it for everyone one else for their own sick satisfaction- well those few can have this site all to yourself - Good Luck!

AZB search does not work for me. Don't know why.

I use an Android cell phone if that matters.

Google givs good results, with many pointing right back here.

Mike, on this thread I see exactly one guy who is being an A Hole, and a few others poking fun and making jokes. No big deal imo. I've visited many other public forums and seen far worse, so I'm not offended too often by what I see posted on here. I guess if you're thin skinned this is not the place for you.

By the way, I'm a regular here and have been bashed pretty good more than a few times for my commentary work and questioning of game rules (plus a few other things). I can take it and I can dish it out too. After all, it's just a forum. No one is throwing punches at you, although I've had a couple of threats via private messages. My experience in life is that the guys who get ugly online and by phone become passive in person. I'm not willing to go through life afraid to voice my opinion either on here or in person. My attitude is that anything I say on here I would say to your face.

you nailed it

Mikemosconi....you’ve made quite a few dissenting posts on here....
...which is your right....you’ve never been vicious or overly derogatory....
...but I got a newsflash for you....everybody else has that right also.

So, CESSNA...he didn’t nail it

The original post seemed kinda like a joke, just because there had been so many threads about the 626 and a whole bunch of conversation about how John did it on a 9’ and wether or not that was tougher than an 8’.

So when someone comes in asking about the pocket size on the 8’ table people were like...mmhmm.

Perhaps cessna just hasn’t been very active lately and so never saw it all.

The BCA letter is definitive evidence that he did do it.

I have ZERO respect for the BCA, Sorry, but they have cemented the pool hustler mentality concept with me.

So who signed his "he did it" letter
Felicity Schmidt, Johns wife
Douglas Desmond, The Ball racker that lost to Mosconni
Cecelia Desmond, The Ball rackers wife
James Forest, The owner of the business

This is fine, we just need that impartial person still.

Looks like a regular and maybe a darts fan more than pool.

David Lota doesn’t seem to exist.

Ian Locklar doesn’t seem to exist either.

Maybe they are the impartial observers or judges??

So nobody without a direct interest, people with vested interests and no notary to know if the other two guys are even real.

I don't own any Predator products and I never will as a result. Just saying.

Why the hell do you care so much about this?

Nobody owes you proof of anything.

Get bent.
