68-69 Joss?

Update

Just heard back from Dan in an email. He confirmed having recently worked on the cue and says he'd put the time frame at '69 to '71. He does state that there is NO Ivory in the butt/butt plate, but is not sure about the joint. He says it's one of a kind.

From Dan:
Yes this is one of my cues.
Yes I did just refinish it.
The butt plate and rear are not ivory.
I don't remember about the joint.
Nice cue we only made one like this I would guess about the time frame he said.

This cue is my original design and was built when Dan and I were together.
I still have the original sketch of this design. There is NO ivory in this cue. The white is all Implex.

Thanks for that information, Bill. It's a beautiful cue and I'll be picking it up in 20 minutes. I really appreciate you clearing that up for good.

As I earlier said, there is no ivory there, but that is one beautiful cue.

For future reference, ivory has a distinct grain. Even in a small ferrule, a wide grain will show up. In a buttsleeve, the grain would show up in various spots, if real.

This is one of the more unusual Joss cues though, one I'd like to have. One beautiful piece. If you haven't already paid a measly $900 for this cue, you're crazier than the shithouse rat. Pay it, and get this cue.

Picked the cue up this morning. Even prettier in person! I took some closer pictures of the joint and ferrule of the original shaft. Would love some feedback on what material you guys think they are. Thanks in advance all. I'm not sure if I plan on parting with it yet. I'm afraid I'm pretty fond of it.
