760 vs 860

I read somewhere that 760 is great for touch games like 1-hole and that 860 is better for 9-ball. My question is, how much faster is 760 than 860? By the way, if it helps, I am looking to put new Super Speed rails on.

Edit - Scratch that SS thing. Looks like to many people have consistency probs with them! Maybe the Diamond k-55 rails then...

I went from 860 to 760HR. In my experience, the 760HR is quite a bit faster, not just a little.
 
I have one 9ft cut of green 860 for 200 shipped. I was awarded this in payment for advertising.

For rails, contact RealKingCobra. The stretch on the cloth and how it's applied will also affect the speed.

Ray - I appreciate the offer. I got some from the same guy who is gonna move the table for me. Was nice enough to do it for $200. Of course thats after a $600 moving fee!!!

I have a friend who bought out a bunch of pool tables and accessories at an auction.
He has all kins of table cloths, rail cloths, leather pocket, brunswick table legs, racks, glues, table cleaners.......etc. Could get stuff cheap!

760 works better when you need to see the speed of the cloth in the object balls, like playing 14.1, 8 ball, banks...etc...

860 or 860HR is a better choice cloth when you need to slow down and control the speed of the cue ball because you don't notice the speed of the cloth with the object balls...because they're being pocketed, so for games like 9 ball, 10 ball, and 1 pocket...it's the best cloth.

With all due respect to RKC, it all depends on what you prefer. Myself, I wouldn't use 860 if it was given to me for free. I prefer a nice, fast table regardless of the game. The next guy may hate it. It all depends on you. As for speed of the cloth, 760 is much faster than 860. It could even be too fast with super speed cushions.

Simions is not speed up cloth and they have fine wool into their cloth as u can check from the simions is fater then other brands.....

Well of course, preference has a lot to do with the choice of cloth, I'd rather play on 760 myself, as I love playing 14.1...but since it's inception, 860 has become the choice cloth for most, not all, but for most playing 9ball and 1 pocket, because it is a slower cloth.

I personally think it's just as hard to switch your game from fast to slow, and slow to fast, but I'm just talking about the general public playing, and what's used in most so called Pro events:smile:
