Was reading a post about racking more forward or more back which got me thinking about this.
I'm sure we have all seen this. By a crooked rack, I mean a rack that is cocked to one side or the other. Hope u know what I mean. If u took a perfectly aligned rack and then moved the back to the right or left while keeping the headball still. I play in bar leagues and it happens a lot.
I have played some folks that always seem to have the rack cocked to one side or the other. Never perfectly aligned. Usually a person will always have a rack cocked to the same side each time they rack. I don't think they do it intentionally, their eyes just don't match up with their brain.
Definately not future engineers, I hope.
Suppose u get a rack that is cocked to one side, but not enough to complain. Is there a benefit to breaking from one side or the other if the rack is cocked to the side? FROM THE BREAKER'S POINT OF VIEW: Let's say the left end ball on the back row is farther from the foot rail (cocked left), which side is more adventagous to break from?
A. For a full head ball hit
B. For a 2nd ball hit (generally used to make the 8 on the break)
