8-Ball on the Break

Hey, I looked at the stats as of the second round. I saw that George Breedlove had 3, 8-balls-on-the-break. Cliff Joyner and Larry Nevel had 2. Everyone else had 1 or 0.

Isn't that a lot of 8-balls for 5 matches?? Is he using that "second ball with outside English" break?? "Enquiring minds want to know."

You can't hit the second ball first. I would think they are using some sort of a cut break or there is a bad rack.

IPT rules require them hit the head ball first, not the second ball.

I would say it is a lot for 5 matches. I would argue that 1 8ball break is a bit rare for 5 matches.

If I'm not mistaken, I think he did two in one match against a local pro named Stan Tourangeau. Two in one match would be a pretty cruel thing for an opponent to endure.

Icon,
I agree. I played about 10 hours of pool with several IPT'ers on Wednesday and saw NO 8-balls made on the break (4 tables).
