Thanks dabarbr. Reviewing this layout, something occured to me. While my previous route is my preferred route, it does require pinpont position a couple of times. Mainly, from the 10 to the 15- don't want to draw back past the straight in line. From the 14 to the 13, while not difficult, can be underhit easily. And, of course, from the 13 to the 12.
With this in mind, if this was my first rack of the match, and I didn't have the speed of the table down at all, I think I might opt for a shotmakers option.
First shot being the 13. I would shoot it with left draw, but not hard. My goal here is to skim the one and just come off the rail a couple of inches. Done right, the one then moves the 12 a little, making it makeable in the corner where it sits.
My next shot would be the long 11. Followed by the 12 in the corner. From there, the 9, then the 10, then 15, 14, and then the 8. This pattern works, but it is a lot of long shots. The sole requirement being that you can break out the 12 with the 13. From there, it's all rough position, and good shotmaking.
