It depends on the level of player, I think. At heyball, women get to remove their last object ball and that's a very large spot. Often it's a problem ball that is tying up the opponent's ball. Maybe the "auto" 8 would be a little less spot than that.
It also depends on the rules of the game- some rules regarding 8 ball pocketing / fouls on the 8 / etc. make not worrying about the 8 a bigger spot than opposing rules.
HUGE. But if you were looking for a gambling spot, the better spot would be to remove any 1 ball at any time, solids or stripes.
