8-Ball Tournaments

Should 8-ball events be incorporated into The Action Pool Tour's schedule?

Perhaps I should have worded the question a little better. I was not trying to elude to bar box 8-ball. Although I respect bar box play, I believe that pool should be played on a 9-foot table no matter what the game.

My comment was not aimed at you as much as the comments further down about the people who claim 8-ball in general is beneath them.

For the record and I have stated it before 8-ball on tight cut 9-foots or better yet tight 10-foots once Diamond starts churning those out is the only hope this sport has.

If you were to shift your whole tour over to 8-ball on the 9-foots with decent length races don't be surprised if your tour grows like crazy in the next few years in both fan and pro interest.

8-Ball

Well, the poll results so far are overwhelming with about 90% of people voting for 8-ball. If the results stay like this, it looks like 8-ball may become part of The Action Pool Tour! Thanks again for the comments and keep the votes and comments coming no matter what your perspective!

Speaking as a player who lives in Northern Virginia, and has been intending to play in your events (just haven't fit one into the schedule yet), I would be about equally interested in playing an 8-ball tournament versus a 9-ball tournament, assuming the rest of the field was about the same caliber in each case.

I would play in an APT event because it's a well-run tournament with a field full of very strong players, close to home, with an affordable entry fee. All of those factors are more important to me than whether the game is 8, 9, or 10 ball; I enjoy those 3 games pretty much equally.
