8 or 16 ball polisher?

I'm planning on pulling the trigger on a diamond ball polisher. Should I purchase the 8 or 16? I'm thinking the 8 to save cost and storage space. In my view, taking the extra time to run the second half isn't a big deal for a home table (would be different if it was in a pool hall). How about design robustness? Any notable difference between the 8 and 16? Off hand, I'm thinking the simpler 8 ball with less parts also is the more robust design. Thanks!

They are pretty much the same machine. Just bigger and second platter on the 16 ball. If you don’t mind running it twice then go for the single. I bought the dual couple years back because I am lazy.

I'd say go with the single for home use, but there's certainly have been times Ive wished I could do them all at the same time.

I've heard take of folks with the double use polish on one side and then no polish on the other side,

For the difference in price, it's worth saving up another few weeks and buying the double platter.

FWIW, I bought the dual platter. Quite a beast but worth the time I worked to buy it.

Makes sense to me. The double is simply too big.

I've owned both. I thought the single platter did a little better job on the cleaning side, but they are otherwise the same and both do a good job overall. If you have the extra time, space limitations and only one set of balls to contend with, the single platter would serve you well. Personally, I have 100 object balls in my ball return, so the dual platter was definitely the way to go for me. It is a beast, but I love it. One note on design - the single platter would tend to flip that little cog/wheel out of the hole when it was first starting. I set things up the same way in the dual platter, but haven't had that issue at all.

I have the 8 and it's way more than adequate for a home room. If you have 2 sets of balls, it's perfect - no down time. That said, if you have room for the 16, go for it - but you won't be disappointed with the 8. In the last few years, I haven't once thought "I wish I had the bigger cleaner." 8 is enough. ha!

I have the 16. If you have comfortable room for a 9 foot, you probably have a corner for a 16 ball cleaner.

We have the 8, and after having it for a year, wish I would have gone with the 16. Only reason is because the ability to put a full set in and least down time polishing 3 sets pluses 8 cue balls.

Plenty of room for the 16 ball polisher, and I have a kid that practices like there isnt going to be a pool table the next day. Now his little brother is practicing so everything needs a bit more maintenance.

I have the 8 and its all I need. I have 3 set of balls, so I can still play while I'm cleaning. I guess it depends how fast you need to clean balls. I can't see the need for a 16 unless it is for a pool room. Does not take long to clean 16 balls running the machine twice. What's the hurry? JMHO
