I believe I saw something about this here on AZ but can't find the thread now.
I think it's a great idea. I believe it would get off to a slow start until players watching got the idea of how it worked. Touraments would run faster, more players that are intimadated playing other players would play in them. You could even have 6-ball mini's for those out of the money in the 9 or 10-ball tournament.
