9/32" gun drill

WTB: a 9/32" gun drill, at least 18" long. Needs to hook up to an air hose for a cue smith deluxe setup.

If you know where or who to get one from, please let me know.

What does this part mean? That it has to already be modified to accept a certain specific air fitting?
Or can you use any typical gun drill, and figure out your own method to connect air to it?

Good thing is, they do have a good resale value .
I got rid of all toolpost kind .
Still have too many drills as I have long boring bars now too.
But, drilling at .650 makes drilling at 7/8 easier .

I'd have to agree, I've learned a lot from you guys over the years and I learned a little bit of what not!

We are all just trying to do what we can, when we can, because we don't have all day to do it.

I suck at giving you advice to call Sterling Gun drill and tell them what you want?
The sucker I was referring to was me for buying so many gun drills.
I ended up selling a lot of them and keeping just a few and buying boring bars.

Call Sterling and tell them exactly what you need
As Coos mentioned they deal with cue makers all the time.

I have no idea what has set you off now Mark. I have been nothing but nice to you and helpful and nothing in this thread was disrespectful or discouraging to anyone posted by either of us. Your reading comprehension is what sucks.

You appear to either have a drug, alcohol or mental issue. But you have crossed a line for the last time as far as I'm concerned. No time in my life for deranged assholes. And no, I do not build cues for a living.

I owe Joey and John an apology, my agreement with slim was not specifically about you guys. I meant to agree that sometimes people are snarky and condescending to some trying to learn.
I've gotten a lot of information from reading you Guys's posts and my intention was not to insult you. Maybe I was having a bad day and I hit send quicker than I should have.

You guys are very valuable to these forums and appreciated.

I've gotten a lot of info from reading Joey and Coos's posts and replies over the years.
Never found them to be other than polite and helpful, though neither one will spoon feed you (which is appropriate).

FWIW, my understanding is that Joey's cue business is a side gig, too?

The reason i asked what you are specifically looking for regarding air mods if necessary to your purpose?
Is because there are surplus dealers who sell used and re-sharp gun drills for a fraction of new cost. But you have to know 1.) what you are buying. 2.) have some facility for adapting, or modifying, or sharpening, what you buy. 3.) might have to keep checking inventory to see when what you need actually comes in.

I think it is prudent that that is AFA i want to say.
Sterling will make exactly what you need, at a very fair price, available on predictable schedule.

I tried one off E bay and either it was dull or Sterling cuts them specifically for cue builders to bore wood. I guess someone could ask Linda when they next order one if that's true. Either way even though it was smaller it didn't cut as cleanly and quick as the new ones do. And getting the air working was a pain for me. For what Sterling charges and the service they give it's almost a no brainer. Plus they are seriously good people up there.

Speaking of small world, my youngest son is a plumber and he moved to Vermont with his Bride and his shop is just down the street from Sterling in Bennington VT.

Both Joey and John are some of the most helpful people on here and try to steer people in the right direction.

Everyone should experiment to figure out what works best for them, but why reinvent the wheel in many cases when you don't have to?
