9 Ball Format

don't know what it's called in the US, but here we play a version called 5–9. basically the 5b is worth 1 point and the 9b is worth 2 points. they re-spot if made early. you race to a number of points rather than a number of racks. do you have that?

depending on race length it can be faster than regular 9b.

You don't think you need to reinvent the game. Just play six ball maybe race to four or five. Something funny I did a ladies tournament 6 ball one time. For the fun of it before it started I said any six balls on the break you get an instant $25. Holy Christ, they made it like eight times.
This is why it's called 9 ball.
You don't have to Explain it.

Most players never beat the good players and they tire of it after a few yrs.
6 ball, top players always win in a race to 7.
The SR9B rules are the same as the pros.... 9 on the spot.
In poker, non professional poker players will play with the pros.... Only one game.
TX Holdum....
A game designed to give the weaker player a chance.
Pool is a game.
I know I'd never beat SVB in a race to 7 in six ball.... but in this game I got a Chance

It looks fun to me as a 61 year old. Six ball is notorious for the inability to make a ball on the break. I’ve never been a run out 9 ball player. A local place has a 3 ball tournament race to one but I haven’t tried it. I would try this. Thx

Sounds like how we used to play ring game 9-ball except for instead of points it’s a dollar for the 5 and two for the 9.

That's what I play with the boys, a weekly Sat. ring game dollar on the five two on the nine, make the nine early it spots back up.
