Hi Guys,

I would like some clarification on racking rules in 9-ball. Are there any rule sets that mention any of the following:

1. How far off the center of the spot the head ball can be?
2. Whether or not you can feather a ball once the rack is removed?
3. Whether or not you can feather a ball while the rack is still on the table?
4. What constitutes a good rack? (i.e. head ball froze)
5. What constitutes a bad rack? (i.e. gaps in certain places)
6. Whether or not you can pattern rack?
7. How twisted the alignment can be and still be acceptable?

I'm looking for any rule sets whether it be league rules, major pool association rules, or major individual tournament rules. Let me know what you got!

Thanks,

2.2 Nine Ball Rack

The object balls are racked as tightly as possible in a diamond shape, with the one ball at the
apex of the diamond and on the foot spot and the nine ball in the middle of the diamond. The
other balls will be placed in the diamond without purposeful or intentional pattern.
