9 ball rules question

Hi all,

The following situation happened in a game about a week ago and i could not believe it so i took these pics and now i need to ask for your input as to what happens here?

The two balls have somehow wedged in the pocket put the bottom centre point of the balls are both off the slate, the shooter is on the 4 whats happens as its going to be impossible to keep the cueball out of the pocket?

Help please!!!!!

is there a section of the rules for that? and what determines the pocketing?

sorry just need to know so i can explain reasons
 
I cant believe that it would be impossible to 'NOT SCRATCH" from there. WHy couldn't he Nip draw? or cheat a bit and play the 4, then 7using both for a rebound, or use the tit/rail and 4 at the same time?

From WPA/BCA rules:

3.33 JAWED BALLS
If two or more balls are locked between the jaws or sides of the pocket, with one or more suspended in air, the referee shall inspect the balls in position and follow this procedure: he shall visually (or physically if he desires) project each ball directly downward from its locked position; any ball that in his judgement would fall in the pocket if so moved directly downward is a pocketed ball, while any ball that would come to rest on the bed of the table is not pocketed. The balls are then placed according to the referee’s assessment, and play continues according to specific game rules as if no locking or jawing of balls had occurred.

The question had not been answered when I started typing. After I posted I saw that someone had already posted the same info complete with the proper rule number which I had been too lazy to look up. Then I hit the ol' edit button and made the content of my post disappear.

Never hurts to ask questions. I sometimes open the thread in a new tab(window) to check status before posting also if it is a hot one or I spend a long time typing.
