Hi there:

Here is a layout taken from video of another aggressive run out here. The player showed some solid skill going through all balls and won the game. Here we go again:


Can you explain the run out in an exciting and clear voice?

Make sure you can be understood by a regular person who does not play pool.

Also, explain the difficult skills required for this game.

I would have liked a bank on the 4 to the side and play a little spin hitting the 7 with the CB off the side rail, but the 4 won't bank. I would have picked this for the 2 way shot... miss 4 and get a hook. I tried to play the CB off the 4 then side rail onto the 8 and pocket it leaving 4 long shot in corner... that was really hard.

Best spot for CB is straight on 4 to bank onto 8 and hold CB or CB on side rail. The 4 will roll over hole and CB down on rail for shape.

not that i would actually go for this run out unless i was in a ring game, but...at least the bank on the 4 plays 2 way. and now that i think about it, it might be fairly tough to hold the cueball off the 3, cant really tell off of a pool table.
 
Looks to me like the 4 might bank in the side. It's close. I'd prefer that if it goes. Otherwise, I'd come higher with the cue ball and bank the 4 in the corner. Either way, it's not a hard bank. It lays very close to the corner pocket-middle diamond-side pocket line. 6 in the side. Then 7-8 combo. How I play for the 8 depends on the angle I get.

DAMN, dude... you're able to make the 3, the 4 and the 6... a double carom after making the 3... all on your opening shot!!!!... and THEN pull shape for the 7-8 combo. DAMN, you're good!!!! :p

"Hey Jude ~~~" I wish I thought of that... It really is very obvious there. You might kick the 4 out on the way back even if you hang up the 9...

Jason, your initial idea is good, but the 4 can really barely past the 7 to make the shot as indicated by the thick yellow line. However, it is possible to use the 4 ball to do a tikki shot (as indicated by the blue line in the diagram below): the 4 contacts the rail first, bounces off the 7 ball thinly, hits the same rail again lightly and continues the forward motion towards the pocket. Tikki is a term that came from 3-cushion billiard. I often wanted to find out how the name started. Perhaps some 3C experts here can help :)

This partially is my fault, I should've bring the 7 closer to the rail.

I would like to point out one interesting point here. Sometimes when people draw a line to show a ball bounced off a cushion, they have the line touching the rail. Imo this is not possible in real life. If you look at the diagram below. I have used the 10 ball and the 11 ball as examples

well actually i intended to make the 7-8 combo in the same shot as well, but...:D
 
Well I like this then. I took a closer look at the 4. I had it too close to the middle diamond. I moved it up past a little like your diagram and it did pass the six. If I over run shape a little bank corner... I also tried the CB into 4 off rail after hitting 3. It worked a couple of times... I also hit the 7 and 8 a few and hooked myself on the 4. I think staying in the middle for the bank is safest route.
