9 Ball: What Do You Do Here - Dec 30 #3

Just power draw it one rail and make the combo. "You can't go wrong with power draw." hah that is a joke I have with a playing buddy of mine after we saw a guy that power drew everything and got lucky about 50 times in an hour. When either of us have a tough shot or are thinking we got to throw out "you can't go wrong with power draw." :D All the most logical options are posted already, I guess I will have to be quicker on the next one.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I just don't see how any play gives a better chance to win the game than six-pack's idea, which is to leave the rock in the vicinity of the pocket after making the one, and shooting the two into the left side of the five while rolling up close behind the 6-7. I would think that any good player should be able to execute this nearly 100% of the time, and this shot takes away just about ALL the rails as far as I can see. Depending on where you get on the 6-7, the opponent may not even have the option of dropping the 9-ball available to him.

As far as I can see, the person who plays this safety is almost guaranteed to have an easy three ball combination on the nine in their next inning. Can someone advise me as to how another shot offers better percentages?

I've seen proposition like shot this before. You make the 1ball stay behind the two jump stroke whitey land ontop of the 2 bounce off it go down table an pocket 9ball with combination off 8ball. Any of you guys do that I'd say plenty.

I thought of that as well, or you could get a little angle on the 2 and send the cue glancing off of it over the balls and toward the combo... With so many gash options, I would probably just play shape on the 2 and not sweat bumping the other balls...even if it doesn't work out you'll have one of these two fun shots to try...
