9 by 2 and 1/2

I read in the 'Pool inventions' thread that someone wanted a 9' table that would fit in a 8' room? Well I have a space that isn't quiet long enough or wide enough, but if I put one end against the wall.........

I've mentioned on here that I could only fit a 7 foot table in the basement at my house. Wishing that I could fit a 9 foot table, do you think it would be worth my while to make a thinner 9 foot table? There is another section of my basement that I could fit a 9 foot by 2 and 1/2 foot table if I put the one end right up against the wall. I would only need the pockets for the end against the wall. Then I could practice long straight in shots, long shots with some cut and back cuts down the rail etc.

Is this something I could make? Say if I found a cheap 9' table to use the rails and pockets of. Or maybe if I just bought the rail and made some king of pocket. Would I be able to get a piece of sleight this size? If not what would be the best substitute for sleight?

No Laughing! Forest Gump became a Ping Pong champion practicing on half a table :p

Let them laugh (LOL) When I posted this I expected a few smart remarks. Hell I'd almost be disappointed if I didn't get some.

One time I had a Pool Table in an apartment. I shoved one corner of the table into the corner. That way I had to bank or kick evrything I couldn't reach. That will get "real old - real quick", but if you stick with it, you'll be amazed at your new ability to bank & kick balls. You can still practice the Break Shot, long shots & several drills.

I know lots of folks that have pool tables. Here is what I've just recently edxperienced. Folks want to come over & see your new Pool Table. They will pat you on the back & drink your beer. In 6 weeks you can't pay someone to come over, because ther are "no Marks...", "no action", "no smoke", "no cussing, ... the list goes on.

Enjoy practicing, enjoy the luxury of a Pool Table & Good Luck.

I too had a table in an apt at one time. I shoved it in a corner but it was a great practice table. Since I could use 1 long and 1 short rail, I could practice just about any shot. My game improved real fast. I think everybody should consider putting one in a corner if they do not have a big room...
