I had never thought of using the circline bulbs! I have some 150w equiv spiral CFL's which light up well, but they go below the bottom of the shades... Going to have to order some of the circline ones to see if that fixes the issue. Think I'll go for the 30w (120w equiv) circline ones and see if that helps.

Wish I had the cash to go for that fixture you have there! It's gorgeous!

Yes I used it even tried with them off not a real big difference but with them you don't see the bulbs... Works great and cheap..... Not 700 for a diamond...
 
Great looking Fixture!!!

How much does the entire light assembly weigh if you had to take a guess? I have been trying to put something like that together out of plywood but I am concerned about what something like this would weigh.

I would be guessing but around 40ish . If you plan on painting I would do mdf primed. Or get a birch plywood with a veneer. I will take a few pics of the top so you can see the construction. And for mounting to ceiling I used all thread and 4 blocks of wood about 4x4 with nuts and washers. 3/8 all thread. Had chains at first but don't touch it. It moves too much. The all thread is very stable. The light won't swing around. I'll try to get those pics asap. I'm calibrating my rails today soon as I'm done I'll get those for you guys.
