I went into a place with family that I had never shot pool with. With both seven and nine footers available I automatically jumped on a nine. It wasn't until afterwards that I thought about it, they were probably much more accustomed to seven footers.
I hit on seven footers sometimes, preferably Diamonds which I don't consider bar tables. Sometimes a bar table is the only option and I hit on one of them. Any pool is better than no pool!
Some of the first tables I hit balls on were ten footers in a deep dark cavern. They only turned lights on over tables in use and there was no other lights on either except up front at the bar/counter. Pool or snooker, I like the ten footers best. Never tried the tables with no pockets. Was just looking through old images of rooms and came to a picture of one of those tables with no pockets and a full sized racking triangle next to it.
Confusion to the enemy??
