In Artistic Pool competitions there's a 90 degree cut shot that many of you are familiar with. Picture the qb on the head spot and the ob on the foot rail frozen to the center diamond. You cut it in either side. It's a great shot.
I had the opportunity to put that shot to work for the out in a local 9ball tourney last night (took 3rd, bah humbug). My opponent played safe, trying to hide behind the 6 and leave plenty of distance and no cut. Without hesitation I stroked it medium speed with max english, aiming to miss the 5, and the OB-1 performed perfectly. My shapes on the 6 were exactly as planned, since it retained just enough spin to take reverse off the 2nd short rail. Onlookers were amazed. (At least the ones that didn't know me.)
