I think it would great for our sport if Bader Alawadhi or other players of Kuwait, did really well. Kuwait has at least four players in this event and since the World 9 Ball Championship and other top events are being played in this part of the world these days, it could be good for the sport that some of the Middle Eastern players do well. It might even be good for world peace. If only we could have similar relations (like we have with Kuwait) with all of the countries of the Middle East. Regardless, any wins will have to be earned as each country is represented by some of their own best players.
I don't know how most of you feel but I would like to know more about these international players whom I haven't been exposed to previously.
Of course, I'm pulling hard for America's Hunter Lombardo and Shane Van Boening. I don't know much about the formats and will have to get up to speed. I know Shane has lost one match already and don't know if he is still in or not. They have some brackets and some live scoring links that Gopi-1 put up and I will have to look through that.
Joey, I got good and bad news for you.
The bad news first... Shane lost, he's out...
... and for the good news!
Omar Al-Shaheen, Khaled GH Al Mutairi and Bader Al Awadi, all from Kuwait made it through the knockout stage!
