<>-_-<> FS: Another 2003 SOUTH WEST…UNPLAYED…3 Veneers, LOW PRICE <>-_-<>

Offering up another unplayed South West built in 2003 that was acquired from an estate collection. If anyone has been looking for a GREAT DEAL on one, here it is. This is not a perfect “trophy” SW cue (read below), but it would certainly make a fine player for someone.

Attractive cue, 6-point Gaboon ebony with 3 veneers (baby blue, green, black) into curly maple with stacked color veneer ring work throughout. As you can see from the pics, the figured maple and ebony woods are nice. In looking at the pin and shaft threads you can tell the cue has hardly ever been screwed together. It hasn’t seen any play (unchalked when we got it) and remains so, except a few dry test hits and it does play nicely.

Everything is as you would expect to see on a super clean older SW, but there are a few issues:
1) The nose appears to have a minor warp in the forearm about 4 inches below the joint. Both shafts have a little bump by themselves, but not bad. All butt/shaft surfaces have been professionally refaced so that everything rolls pretty good now when assembled.
2) There are a few tiny finish imperfections (see the butt close up over the ring). No noticeable dents/dings, just a few minor imperfections here and there.
3) One of the tips has a little issue...it looks like some of the leather has come apart along the edge. Easy cure = a re-tip or it could also be cut it down a little. Want to leave that decision up to the buyer, though.

Folks, this cue is being sold as-is (hence the low price). Best deal you will find anywhere for a nice 6-pt veneered player South West.

~ Pin # 339 03

~ Butt = 16.4, shaft 1 = 3.9, shaft 2 = 3.8, so overall it’s a touch over 20oz.

~ Both shafts are 13mm with LBM ferrules and triangle tips.

Sold USPS priority shipping will be included for this price (conus). Outside the US will be extra for shipping (quotes on request). This price is for a check or money order transaction, paypal fees not included. No trades please.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sean

Thx....yeah, guys better not snooze on this one. Doubt it will be available tomorrow. Lots of interest and questions. :)

Great Cue and even better price for anyone looking for a SW hit.

Isn't the roll out normal on 80% of SW cues? I must have gone there 20 plus SW...only found 3-4 that were straight with no rollout on them. These are made in the desert as soon as they travel elsewhere...most of them will warp. I was told this is normal especially in Asia and that if you bring the cue back to vegas...it may straighten out.

Regards,
Duc.

Well, it didn't make it through the night. Sale is now pending on this SW. If something doesn't work out with this deal, I will contact all the others in the order their offer was received. Thx.

Yes, Duc....it is somewhat common for these cues to not roll perfectly. Not sure about your estimate of the % though. They have an unusal compound taper (thin joint and thick A-joint, compared to most other cues)....but you also can't outrun the physics (wood will do its own thing) when it comes to the arid conditions where they were made and the wood was use to....compared to places they might end up 'living' in a different climate, especially more temperate and humid areas. One thing is for sure....they do play great and that's why they have such a following !!
