I'm planning on getting a new cue within a few weeks or so now.
I originally was considering a predator, but after a bit of reading, and all of the positive comments, I've now got my heart set on an OB-1 shaft. as well as all the praise and the fact it's said to be the best by many people, it's also something a bit different to a predator which everybody has got. plus it has a cool name
now here's the problem. I haven't already got a decent cue so it's not just a case of putting the new shaft on my old butt (It's a battered earl strickland cuetec).
from what I can see you don't appear to be able to buy butts seperately, so that's a starting problem. and I've also been reading about possible problems with just mixing and matching shafts and butt's because of the weight - it might affect the balance and all that. so even if i could say buy a production butt for the OB-1 would it nessecarilly be the right thing to do?
would the best thing to do perhaps get a custom butt for the shaft - although not being much of an expert in this area i'm concerned at the cost. but then i suppose i could gurantee the cue is all balanced and weighted correctly.
also what's the difference between all the joint sizes and styles for the OB-1? anything important to know there?
thanks in advance for your help. i apologise if some of the questions seem a bit stupid - it's just this is a big investment. it's not like i'd buy myself another cue a month later!
