hi all.

this is a spin-off from the wrap v wrapless debate.

is there a case for smooth leather wraps?

pure black smooth leather is always a timeless classic.
they reflect class and elegance.

how can someone not like the feel, the power, the texture and sleekness of pure smooth leather? luxury shoes, belts and our wallets are made of them, our key holders probably are made of them, so are car seats. the girl down the street is probably even wearing leather leggings!!!

wrapped cues are generally cheaper to fullsplice cues, or even wood-replaced wrapped cues.

more importantly, from a functional aspect, surely leather wrap cues can achieve things that wrapless cant.

my understanding that its a flexible way to achieve some individuals's specs such as balance (forward heavy or butt heavy) or a certain weight while using a particular heavy wood

what are your thoughts and inputs? :)

2 smooth brown, and Ricky Phillippi black boar

I have 3 leather wrapped cues. A older mottey with smooth brown- A 1983 Joss with smooth brown. and a 2003 Phillippi with Ricky's black Boar wrap. I love them to death- they slide threw your hands easily, they grip when you grab on- and the keep your hand dry from sweat. Moisture is non- existent . I think they do look better than just blk and white linen. Now there are Newer types to choose from ! Shark ,eel, snake skin etc I vote yes FOR leather. They stay cleaner and last longer. Mark I am having the Mottey refinished and re wrapped with leather by JMW ! It wouldn't have the same style ,look without the classy wraps- from the Mottey shop.

I prefer a wrapless cue now, but my second choice is stacked leather. I do not like the looks or feel of linen. Stacked leather gives me a feel most similar to a wrapless cue. I own three leather wrapped cues.
