Here are a couple of custom Predator shafts that I recently built and they were shipped/delivered today. On the left is another Pred/SouthWest and on it's left is the billet I built for the matching ring-work, Tulipwood inlayed w/blk. veneer strips. Gotta love those SouthWest.
The shaft on the right is a Pred/custom Huebler. This shaft required that 2 billets be made to match the cue. The billet to the left of the shaft is blk. phenolic base, inlayed with Maple strips. The billet on the right side of the shaft is again, blk phenolic base but inlayed w/Pink Ivory. The ring-work on the handle looked to be pink stained maple. I didn't want to risk a mis-match in stain or risk staining the Maple dashes next to the pink. I got lucky in finding a piece of Pink Ivory that matched the stain almost exactly. Sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do. And sometimes you get lucky.
Please enjoy the pic and let me know if I can be of service in building your next custom matched shaft, be it for a SouthWest or whatever. KJ
