Since I've been up working all night I expect to be in a very deep sleep until 6pm ( just about dinner time).

Give me a call after 6pm EST.

mike i met you a couple years ago at the stop in canton at fiddlestix
and i believe in what you are doing for the sport and i think you are making a difference in pool and billiards you seem genuine and sincere

but IMHO the biggest impact is in the competetive level of pool

what im talking about is showing mainstream america what pool can be .
N.U.T.S isnt causing many people to start playing the game , starting to compete sure !!! and thats great!!

but im talking about the youth that has never played the sport
talking about reaching out the the boy scouts , the church youth centers
ect ect kids and parents that have never seen anything of the game but what hollywood has shown them

these are the untapped potential that can make a huge impact

What if the car or other major sponsor got their name and catalogs distributed at over 250 pool tournaments and had 12 events on TV each year that their product was seen on and those tv events replayed 9 times each?

Wouldn't that be the NUTS !

Mj

Sure would , Mike!

Thanks for your kind words and support! :-)

Here's some insight I want to share with you:

I exactly designed the N.U.T.S. with a vision of reaching out to mainstream
America. It's not there yet but it has the potential. The idea behind the
NUTS is to have a regular tour on TV that everyone can follow and watch on a
regular basis. I want it to be a tour. I do not want it to be individual
events on TV like we have now. When pool is presented in this type of format it will take on a new light. More people will say "Hey I play pool
pretty good, I should be on TV with those people." then they will wonder
how to get there and we will have the system in place for them to try.

Without a program in place like the NUTS, I see absolutely no reason why
anybody would want their kids to play pool on a professional level. When
people start to see professional caliber players making a decent living
playing our sport on TV on a regular basis more people will get involved.
And from that, more youngsters will enter our sport and help perpetuate our sports future in mainstream America.

I know the NUTS concept seems far fetched to some people but believe me, I
put a lot of thought into it. I 1st started thinking of the idea many, many
years ago (about 6) but didn't know how to develop it or even what it should
be. In 2002 I started putting my ideas in writing. In 2003 I started
building relationships with other tour promoters so they would trust in my
vision. In 2005 I released some of the information to the public.

Just so everyone that reads this knows....... This is my profession, it's
the only one I have. I work full time on getting sponsors for tournaments,
selling the tournaments, advertising the event and running the events. I
have sat down with large sponsors, I listened to what they wanted and now we are going to give it to them.

A major goal for everyone that promotes pool is to get that major cash
sponsor but nobody has ever tried to develop a system that would be
attractive to them. Think about this, why would Nike, Pepsi or any other
big dollar advertiser want to give cash to our sport if they only get a few
hundred people at an event or a couple of hours on TV. The NUTS is designed
to give them 300+ events across the nation with tens of thousands of
participants and spectators with 60 - 120 hours a year of television
exposure. That's what they want and that is what will bring the larger
advertising dollars into our sport.

Wish me luck and please support this endeavor.

Respectfully,

Mike Janis

Mecedes is not looking good, I've heard.

Cadillac was not a sponsor at the Masters this year. They used to be the exclusive sponsor there.

This is about as serious as it gets, of course, but what it demonstrates for pool is that companies aren't sitting around with a big bag-o-money wondering if there's some great pool player that they can give it to.

It'll take, for example, what Mike Janis is doing: intense, focused marketing, combined with our continued building of our product, each parlayed into a value producing system that has the ability to make money for whomever.

Now, if the govt. continues the irrational spending/taxing/printing spree where companies leave or go broke, and we're hit with inflationary depression, pool might be the only affordable sport anyway. :(
