You know who you are...have to have a new cue every week...can't decide on that wrap, wood, etc.. Here's just the cue for you! :D

I've got one of these cues and love it! It doesn't get played with, just an attention getter and I also use it to get a better picture of what a cue would look like with certain wraps, stains, rings.

Was this a very old cue built so a builder or reseller could use it for demo purposes - say in the 60's or so? I have several players tell me they can not visualize what a cue will look like with different wrap, different woods etc. Maybe that is partially why maple and black & white wrap seems to be the "standard".

Yes, this is a Viking salesman's sample cue. It's a real novelty when you pull this out at the poolhall. You can make people at the next table nauseous! It actually plays well.

I think you hit it on the head, Jack. If every cuemaker had one of these, there might be more of a choice than black with white speck wraps!
