A Cue with Weight Bolts or No Weight Bolts

What do you prefer and why? I want the ability to change butt weights and have different balance points along with multiple shafts at different
weights and materials. Wood is still my favorite. My feel and touch changes and a little switch from time to time seems to get back in
the groove. When it goes haywire it's because I'm smacking the CB too hard and fast. The weight and balance help to counter that.

Any cues weight bolt is adjustable but that usually involves replaceing or cutting the weight bolt.

Their are a few brands that have adjustable weight bolt systems. Cuetec and predator come to my mind. When you adjust the weight you are adjusting the balance point but as to where the point is you have no control. Sometimes you get lucky and get the perfect combo. But them systems you can adjust down to .01oz, and that has worked for me.

The only cue that i know that is fully adjustable is McDermott they have a cue with an adjutable balance point and weight and those are the more expensive models.

In the future, Carbon Fiber cues look promising to me in reguards making cues fully adjustable.

I prefer a cue that is not threaded for a weight bolt. Short answer why is in the past I changed it around far too much.

Currently doing much better. 🤣 Now I will only put an ounce in a cue & leave it that way. My Predator has (2) .3 & (1) .4 weight cartridges installed.

Or you can buy a whole bunch of weight bolts and cut them down to where each one is .1 oz. (or whatever you want your increments to be) lighter than the top weight and the weight before it.

You can affect the balance point a little bit based on where you put the weight bolt(s). If you screw them in as far and deep as it will go, you'll get a different balance than having them as close to the butt cap as possible. How much weight you're adding
will also impact it.

I really like the mezz avant...little strange at first because mentally I think of a break jump cue...but being able to make it more forward or butt end weighted has been great

I haven't seen a "double load" like this before. Very interesting and looks like a great idea. What does the cue weigh "empty"?

Any added weight at the bottom that is over an oz ruins the hit imo
How? Is it something felt? Does it affect performance? What exactly is the hit?
"Ruins" is a strong word and doesn't happen unless it's far too much weight which affects the timing and speed of the stroke causing less accuracy or control. Same could be said for too little weight and balance not matching the players stroke speed and transition from backstroke to forward. "Hit" can be more affected by the softness or hardness of the tip, layered or one piece and who makes them. I think a carbon fiber shaft could be as much of a problem if not more for many players.
But it is the big new trend. Monkey see...monkey do.

It was mentioned before but here is the H Series from McDermott with a variable weight system. No weight bolt threaded in. My personal cue is one of these and I have my weight in the handle section. I have a demo cue that is really front weighted and people can tell the difference.

I missed the other post. Very innovative and a great idea. What is the minimum and maximum weight you can adjust these to?
