We all know what miniature golf is. Is bar pool MINIATURE POOL?

The dictionary shows synonyms for miniature are: tiny, teensy, wee, minuscule, diminutive

If this is what it is, wouldn't it be appropriate to name it more accurately?
 
Yes, yes it is!

Was at friends house last night and he had a 7' Brunswick Contender and I sware it looked like a toy table! :)

What is the point of this facetious question? I dont think ive ever heard someone say "i am going to ask you a facetious question."
 
Since there are probably more bar tables than 8 and 9 footers combined, maybe we should call 9 footers SUPER POOL.

*I don't know if there are actually more small tables than 8s and 9s. It was just a guess.
 
I had to look it up. 6 definitions - To make an attempt at being funny, while being sarcastic at the same time was one? :confused:

I thought I was gonna be a pro golfer when I was young, but I couldn't master the windmill hole, so I turned to pool.

I use to go to a small town south of Chicago named Burnham. There was a bar there that stayed open 23 hours a day named The Trumpet. They would put you outside at 5am and let you back in at 6am after there mandatory clean up. They had 2 3 by 6 bar tables that always had action going on.

Road players during the 70's always dropped in there when they were in the area. 5 people in a ring game may keep you waiting a while for a shot. The place was run by two big Irish guys and I asked one time why it looked like they had put the doors on backwards because hasps were on the insides. He told me that they were like that for the people that acted out or started trouble. They would pad lock the doors and in no uncertain terms explain to them the error of their ways.
 
They are two totally different games and the feel is totally different. Someday play in a big bar table tournament and see how long you survive. Then see if you think it is like miniature golf.

It depends on what you describe as "miniature golf"?

We have a putting course at Angel Park here in Vegas that might drive some PGA pro's crazy. You must putt every shot. Some holes are 30 feet, some 150. There are both water and sand traps. No wedges allowed. If you're refering to the kind of "miniature golf" with windmills, 90 degree bumpers and timing challenges, thats a horse of a different color.

Like these two golf games, bar box and full size each has its own challenges. In comparison to the real game of Golf as practiced by Tiger Woods, only a five by ten pool table compares. JMHO.

Agreed - the course I play most is a bit over 6600 yards - the pros regualrly play 7100+ yard courses....I don't consider what I play miniature golf. Add in the tricked up pin placements on CRAZY fast greens, shaving of slopes around greens, forced carries off the tee (due to added yardage), etc. etc. etc., and you's actully compare what I play (golf wise) to what the pros play equal to a loose 9 foot Gold Crown and a 10 footer with 4 inch pockets - THAT much different
