a fluke?

so in the past when i thought my stroke was good, then i would shoot a shot, and get the desired effect on the ball, ie...backspin, or what not....

but sometimes randomly, i would shoot, and the ball would just fly with more action than i thought possible....(which im sure means that on that stroke i actually stroked it well...lol a FLUKE to have a good stroke......vs what i THOUGHT was a good stroke... )

i think my stroke is really gonna stop being randomly good, and start being ACTUALLY GOOD..

Fluke

My experience is that most non-pro players think they have a good stroke but really don't have a clue how bad it really is. It's the old saying..."You don't know what you don't know". You stumbled onto a good stroke by fluke but unless you know what it was that you were missing, you will probably stay where you are. What was different about the "Fluke" stroke?

I've noticed that sometimes you can get wicked CB action when you strike the CB near the mis-cue area.
I first noticed this when I was shooting a stretch shot. I, basically, barely tapped the CB near the bottom with, like a 2 inch stroke. It even sounded like a mis-cue, and the CB drew back about 9 feet. Initially, I thought, what was happening, was that the tip was hitting the felt and scooping the CB up, and the CB would land on the OB and cause the CB to roll back. But, that wasn't the case because I tried it with 4 feet between the CB and OB, and still got a ton of draw..and the CB didn't jump at all. I didn't play around with it much because it's not really practical to use a mis-cue type stroke. I suppose it's simulating a masse affect on the CB.

This is sooo true ... If you concentrate on hitting the CB in the exact spot that you initially are aimming you'll not believe the amounts of spin you will produce. And the amount of balls you will make!
