A Good Lesson With Gene Albrecht

I would like to thank Gene for coming over to my house last night and working with me on perfect aim. Gene was a bit under the weather but still made time to come by and give me a lesson. After taking Gene's lesson I think many of his detractors should allow him to explain his system before they knock it. I found the information to be useful in how I play.

He also shared some fractional aiming tips and some technical advise on the break. I found his instructional methodology easy to follow and I feel like I benefited from the session.

Gene did all of this with the intention of me passing it on to my students at school which I fully intend to do. I really enjoyed his visit and would recommend him to anyone. I can also say for certain that Gene is also a jam up player. If you question his skill give him a try when he's around.

Anyways, thanks again Gene. Looking forward to your next visit.

Can't thank Gene enough for the countless free phone lessons given out...

I understand that he IS selling something so many will claim that they maybe aren't free in the long run...

But regardless the detractors have all been quiet lately since he has been more laid back in posting about his system...

I think he may have been a wee overenthusiastic in the beginnings with tons of postings and turned some people off, but his results have now spoken for themselves...

Hope Gene is feeling better and I wish him safe travels and God's speed regardless of which way he has the van pointed.....

I'm glad you had such a great time with Gene.

I really hope you're able to incorporate some of his ideas in your forcefollow videos. I can't tell you how helpful your videos have been to me. I'm a beginner but I believe in study and practice, and your stuff has been great.

I'd like to comment on the bolded part. Some may include me in the list of "detractors," but I think those that do, are broadbrushing with too wide a brush. The only thing I and some others take issue with, is what you commented on above -- the overzealous marketing. I have no doubt that Gene's methods work, because -- understand me carefully now, and I challenge everyone to go look at my past posts on this -- Gene's methods are filling a gap that has existed in the loosey goosey instructional syllabus of pool itself. Other cue sports (e.g. snooker) have a ratified instructional syllabus that includes universally-agreed-upon standard components of fundamentals, including proper head/eye positioning. What's Gene's doing is plugging the holes in pool instruction -- but it's not "omigod, this has never been taught before" mountain-moving material. To those that may never have seen it before (i.e. pool players), sure, it may be. But not to the cueing sports world in general.

Let's make this clear: what I think Gene is doing -- content-wise and help-to-the-pool-world-wise -- is GREAT. It's fantastic! The only trip-up / stumbling block has been the overzealous and overblown marketing.

Things've quieted down because the overzealous marketing have quieted down. Yet Gene's marching on, unaffected. That should tell you something, if you look past the "skin" of it.
