A Great Synopsis Of The Ivory Ban Re: Pool Cues

The next hot inlay will be made from the bones of liberals. However, until that time comes, instead of dealing with the poachers, the right way, they will try and remove the LEGAL market, and penalize those that do not follow these laws that are built on fantasy.
Its already been established that ivory prices are on the rise in the pacific rim, despite China saying they will take a hard stance on the trade. How can a corrupt government take a hard stance on anything?
So with the RISE in prices, what do you think will happen next? I'll give you three guesses...

lol, is this John? lol.

In any case, learn to read: I said the Feds could lose, not that they would. I also said no one knows what's going to happen.

Alas, it is the same flawed, stale baloney people like you try to get away with over and over on this topic in attempt to create a frenzy.

And yellow guys like you duck bets they say are a lock...unless they have a corporation of backers. Nice back pedal though. "The feds could lose" says Louser. Well if you want odds , I'll make your action.

I assumed guys here would understand the gravity of a legendary cue maker who made cues for the rat pack, being railroaded by the Feds. And I'm the crazy one.

Show me where I said it was a lock.

CJH....absolutely a beautiful design with a very unique sleeve.
The rings look spectacular & you obviously treat it with respect.

Everything appearance wise is classy from stem to stern....but
Tom is absolutely correct with his wager.....it is a gorgeous cue
but unfortunately has a different joint than what I am looking for.

I have had a couple of Hercek cues offered, one being the Mustafa
cue (Lion Head Scrimshaw) and the last 5 - 6 have been just
knockout handsome specimens but either the shaft was piloted or
was too heavy. My weight range is 18.3 -18.7 and ideal is 18.5 ozs.

Joel Hercek was gracious to speak with me and based upon our
discussion, my odds of locating that type cue is slim and in all
probability, I'd need to order a cue built to those specs. The folks
who own cues like that just do not bring these cues to the market.

Obladi.....Oblada.......Thanks to Dean, I've added some nice cues
so it's not like I am desperate. But when finance isn't an obstacle
and finding such a cue is, the overall situation just becomes very
frustrating. And then the stupid CA ivory ban happens and so it
all combines for a rather pessimistic outlook for adding a Hercek.

Matt B.

p.s. I know people understandably think I'm being inflexible and
picayune but any cues I add have to match the current line-up.

Hey Matt I totally understand and appreciate that you know exactly what you want. That's not picky at all...its commendable!

Oh wow. Classiccues has me cranked up. I want to send my Frey sneaky back to Bob and have a liberal bone joint and collar added. And Bob's in Baltimore. Liberal bones are a dime a dozen there.

Just wait till Tramp Steamer hears of this.

You don't want liberal bone inlays... it will possess your cue into missing shots and giving away your money to those that don't deserve it.... :p

Fyi. Ernie will be in court the 24th for his arraignment. Then we will find out what he is officially being charged with.

Not knowing what really happened makes it difficult to judge Ernie's actions or complicity.

Here's what I think occurred. Ernie was confronted with reality......the CA ivory ban was about to happen.
It could have been weeks or even months away but it was imminent & nothing could prevent or delay it.

Some overseas buyers arrange to visit his shop and they intend to spend a lot of money on Ginacues.
Ernie knows there are cues he will get stuck with that were underway or woulda been completed around
the time of July 1st ivory ban, or shortly thereafter. He anticipates getting stuck with a lot of cues in progress
and cuts a great deal with these buyers.......he is able to unload inventory that he in all likelihood wouldn't
ever get to sell all because of the ban. The only way he could avoid this would be to relocate outside CA.

I imagine that Ernie sold the cues legally but there's some question about him knowing ahead of time these
cues were going be exported or smuggled. That Ernie had a responsibility to not sell the cues when he had
knowledge or suspicion the cues would be going overseas. It's ilike Ernie had some responsibility for enforcing
the Federal ban. Again, I do not know any of this to be true but to my way of thinking, it sounds like a more
likely scenario than Ernie knowingly and intentionally violating the Federal law.

Here's what I hope happens........Ernie is found innocent of breaking the law, he finishes all the cue for any
customers in waiting and decides it is time to just pack it.
