EVENDALE -- A local bar is believed to be the first to lose its liquor license as a result of the state's ban on smoking in public places.

The Ohio Division of Liquor Control said last week that it had denied a request to renew the license of Peg's Pub on Reading Road in Evendale.

The agency said the bar had been cited numerous times since the smoking ban went into effect in December 2006 and had more than $55,000 in unpaid fines.

The bar can appeal the decision.

Out of all of the bars I played pool league in over the past few years in Middletown, Trenton, Franklin etc.. NONE of them stop anyone from smoking..

I'm not a smoker and it makes me rather sick to be around it for long so I've actually quit playing league because of it..

i just wanted at least one of the 50 or 60 guys that been playing there in thier saturday nite tourney to see this
i know some of them are on az, lurkers, dont join up
but they can let the guy that runs the tourney know the situation
