Most may have heard by now, we lost one of the greatest today!...Arnold Palmer died in Pittsburgh Sunday, at age 87!..He was so much more than just a popular sports figure, he was the epitome of class in everything he did. He was a man who connected with the masses. He related to kids, hourly wage employees, millionaire CEO's, — and Presidents.

He was almost single-handedly responsible, for the popularity of golf. Can you imagine, if he had chosen to became a pool player, and did for pool, what he did for tournament golf, the average 'B' pool player might be a millionaire!

RIP Arnie, you'll always be the 'King'!

PS....Sorry Dnixon, I did not notice your thread, when I started this one!...However, I'm sure you'll agree, he is worthy
of several threads!

it reminds me of my own mortality
thanks for the tribute

just got the news a few minutes ago. I watched many, many of his golf matches. golf player or not, this man had Class! R.I.P Mr.Golf!

The King is dead...long live the King!

Arnie was truly my favorite sports figure of all time!

I was deeply saddened when I heard the news. With his warm smile and signature helicopter finish golf swing, Mr. Palmer connected with all of us. We were his army.
Rest in peace Arnie.

I feel like I lost my Dad again. Devastated, but relieved he is once again back in his 'prime' up above on the 'Course of all Courses'. Nothing but pure class in a world full of classless, self centered, egotistic pro athletes.

God Bless and RIP Mr. Palmer
