A interesting tip revealed to by my very dear friend, whom you all know has passed, Allen Gilbert!
Al & I have been friends since the early 80's, we both had something in common, we liked to gamble at 3 cushion billiards!
Even though we were bitter rivals to the end on a Carom table, we remained close friends off till His death! I was deeply saddened!
Anyway, enough schmaltz!
Everyone thought Al was a pretty cheap guy, because of his, 'Out of style' appearances! NOT true! He was a VERY generous man with His real friends!
As I stated, we were tough competitors on the table,but, He gave me this little tip about what slacks, OK pants to were playing 3C!
He said, "Always wear pants with a, 'Western cut pocket'! If you wear slacks with the side cut pocket, you sometimes catch you 'grip hand' on the forward swing in your stroke!"
When He told this to me, I looked back on several times when this issue occurred to me personally! After that, even for tuxedo slacks, I had them made with western pockets!
