The NCS is an excellent series and this goes out to the pool room owners.
We were successful with the NCS 8-Ball National Championship in Feb. the NCS 14.1 Continuous National Championship, which is a whole different style of game and following, is moving forward. The 14.1 national event is scheduled at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ and being streamed by Accu-Stats.
The NCS 9 and 10-Ball National Championships are being held Sept. 3-7 at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino with live streaming by TAR (as was the 8-ball event).
We set up the NCS to be based on a qualifier system with a max field of 64 players. We had 57 in the 8-ball tourney in Feb. with a payout of $28,500!
Many rooms around the country have been tremendously supportive and we truly appreciate it, however we need you too!
To host an NCS qualifier is inexpensive: $100 sanction fee which goes towards the following: banners, we pay for regional and online advertising, flyers, all forms and return envelopes. Those who are involved in the program can attest to how we operate such as the owners of the following pool rooms: Sal Butera or Butera's in Moorpark, CA; John Kutcher at Pool Sharks in Las Vegas, NV; John Lavin at Red Shoes Billiards in Alsip, IL; David Wilde at the Jordan Pool Hall in Whitehall, PA; Askar from the Golden Fleece in Kenmore, WA; Sean Meade of Rack Em Billiards in Aurora, CO to name a few. OB Cues and DELTA-13 Rack as well as Hustlin USA can also testify on the program and how it is ran.
The program is simple and benefits the sport tremendously. We received wonderful reviews with the first endeavor and most of the original rooms have signed up for further qualifiers.
However...there are some states were we need help! Some issues are because of scheduling jams in heavily regional tour states, some are because people are fearful to try something new.
We need room owners who have preferably 9' tables who feel $100 sanction fee for a 14.1, 9 and 10 ball qualifiers (per qualifier) is not cost prohibitive and who want to see an open series of U.S national championships flourish.
I know what dates in your region will work as I've put together a huge national calendar.
