A little Help maybe?

I'm tired of having the only threads I read by about complaining about pool and why it's not big.

So I've decided to make my own topic back to why I came here.

So I posted a video of myself shooting a couple racks of 9 ball and decided to throw it up here for some "critique" and whatever else comes my way.

I guess you can consider this an "AFTER" video in the series, with the "BEFORE" video being here:

First of all let me say I like the jersey choice, I'm a big Cowboys fan. Now for the playing, the only thing I see you could work on is getting your chin down a little closer to your cue. I'm a big boy such as yourself. I'm 6'3 270. It was something I had to do some work on. I was too upright.
 
:thumbup:you seem to be more deliberate in your approach ,and have made great stride's.keep up the good work.now the only thing you need to work on is that wardrobe.

I guess that second guy was your twin brother or somebody dressed up like you. First guy was a stand up shooter who held the back of cue too high and didn't take much time to shoot. Second guy was down low, took time and surveyed the table. I would spend more time shooting with that second guy!! Also that first guy really babied some balls with poor results. You have to shoot balls, not meaning shooting hard, but with a deliberate stroke. Your on your way. It's a journey not a sprint!
 
First off, let me give you some resPect for coming on here and having the guts to show everyone a video of yourself not shooting very well. Secondly, wow! What a difference. An even demeanor, deliberate pace, surveying the table, all while not jacking up your stick in the process. I would say Roger has got you going in the right direction. Keep us up to date on your progress. Good luck!
 
From what I see your headed in the right direction. One thing that stands out to me is your rhythm & timing. Most players at your rating are not near as smooth. As Roger mentioned you utilize full bridge length for your stroke which helps.

That alone however is not the whole package. For the most part you start back smooth and finish your back swing. That is a big step and necessary one for a smooth transition. That is the basis of a smooth and accurate stroke. Your inner sense or feel for that is very good.

It takes time but a good stroke will accelerate the learning curve on all aspects of the game. At times your rail bridge could use a little help. Sometimes it looks a bit awkward and not flat. Of course if you always play good position, don't worry about it. lol

I'm familiar with that table # 19 it is fast. Well Roger has you off to a good start or your a good student or both. Good luck I think you'll progress just fine. I don't need any weight --- yet. lol

so today i went out and had about a 3 hour practice session and tried getting down lower on the ball. my chin is about an inch or 2 off the cue...resulted in me having to really spread out...take up a lot of room now...lol...but overall i see a better line on the ball and was really happy with the results.

it's amazing what a little tweak can do to help out...THANKS!
