Hi all *addicted to pool* friends,
Like almost everyone knows, I usualy try to share my knowledge with everyone-and I also enjoy to make conversation here with almost all of you-may you re the guy who asks for help, or perhaps guys I m still looking up to like persons who made their hobby becoming a passion to teach about billiards. I enjoy to be allowed to share my experiences here on the instructor-forum even if I am not a professional-instructor like many here-and still thxful getting input and helpful advices from them even if they just may correct me !
Having my first coffee this morning a point came, where I was suddenly (again) really a bit upset. A guy or whoever asking for help-may it be in the main forum or in the instructor forum. Usualy he get s a ton of help here on this amazing different forums on AZB. But what is contra-productive from my point of view is, that sometimes *un-experienced* wanna-be s (without name here!) are telling stupid tales without seeing the main problem in most situations. This is the key and the most important thing a qualified instructor or even an experienced player with much knowledge has:
He or she is able to *DETECT*.
Player A writes: I m missing shots like *diagram etc*. And immediately adventure-like comments and advices are coming up. How can they write in one sentence what is going wrong..even without any *if* or *but if*.
How I wrote: I started usualy writing this in a thread about “something” (very constructive thread with postings from very knowledgeable guys like Geno, Steve, Scott etc, etc, ). Here it was about the same procedure….missing shots (somehow). Experienced guys, or professionals, too trying to help the way it should be: With experience! They try to detect the main reason by asking or just by numbering several points he has to follow to *kill* basic failures/mistakes.
Sentences like “I know that all- I worked on it-but instructor A or B or C is too stupid, just willing to earn money as much as possible” – Even if I read something like this- just reading it from thousands miles a way im close to explode. For sure there can be moments where two people can t just come together, for what reason ever. Nothin bad-this happens. But if it is about things which are totally clear- let me choose here for example the fundamentals, you ll see soon if you have an absolutely help-resistant human- who s always searching mistakes but never checking himself and not being seriously to himself (or better unable to be seriously to himself!) I think those type of students can make you crazy-and you must be an extremely experienced guy and human to handle this without getting upset. Right here on the forum are many examples…..where I just can say: sad! A guy gets informations how to work something out, in best case getting lessons how to create and control himself- and a bit later you ll see another posting where he s just asking the same again in other words or for something stupid (sorry) new again. Imo just hoping to receive the holy gral without being forced to work on his own and spend the fu…ing table time EVERYONE HAS TO SPEND to become a bit better. If this not happens (lol, also still looking for the gral^^), the time came to holler at ppl who have excellent reputation and telling bullshit about em.
So no matter what kind of mistake, no matter what kind of shot you re missing, no matter if it rains outside and no matter for sure if you have a physical problem or mental problem-
THE PROBLEM IS ALWAYS YOURSELF <----!!
This the reason I love the game-you re always the one who fails-noone else. As soon you got it and accepted it, you ll become a better player. The helpful people here on AZB, the qualified instructors and the experienced pro s here spending their free-time and hobby with all of you. Giving it free to you!
So stop talking-start learning to learn ! And also start learning to say “Thx Sir (or Mam^^)”
THEN you ll start for sure being a better student and perhaps learnt something for you whole life!
Lg from overseas, and sorry if I was a bit rude in the text-and if my low English hurt you sometimes
