A Meucci or a Jacoby?

I like wrapless cues, I mostly enjoy those house cues sometimes they play great, and I'm looking to buy a cheap cue, please advise me, which one should I choose, I'm torn between these two because I like the minimalistic style with no pointers.

question on the side: I heard from a pro that inlays/pointers do make the cue play better, is that true? cause the two I'm choosing has no pointers at all, just a grip and a forearm with one colour.

Have Schmelke make you a custom cue.

Call them and talk to David.

Wow, I thought "we" were cracking down on alt accounts.

lmao, what? I can't wait to hear this. This sounds like some stupid shit John Schmidt would say.
no actually Johann Chua said it, and I don't know if its legit or not, but here is me, I'll buy a cue with no inlays, but I want to know if its real, he even said in the video that he doesn't know how to explain it but alot of other people feel the same way watch the vid here, and he even said it in the start of the video. here's the link

The subject in questoin in start of the video 00:05 seconds.

Buy what you like (points make no difference). Look at Shaw, Earl, Shane they play with 24-30 ounce cues. It's all what feels good. All that said a Jacoby is much better than a Muecci... My opinion.

P.S
Dennis Orcollo 2 years ago told everyone on F.B how great his Muecci played (after an endorsement deal)... A month later he snapped the shaft at a NY tournament and moved away from Muecci. And Dennis can play with any cue (just saying). Lol

what does this have to do with my post?

pls check two cues are almost the same style, but can't hit the trigger on which to buy, both almost the same price, i love the wraplesss of both cues, red/white looks really nice and hype, while the blue/white look really classy.

My opinion is Jacoby makes better quality cues.

If those are my two choices I would pick the Meucci.

I played with a Meucci for over 35 years before pulling the trigger on a high-end custom. They had some serious quality control issues in the 90s and into the 2000s. As a result, Meucci bashing is a favorite past time for some people, many of whom have never played with one in their lives. Those issues have long been resolved, but the bashing remains.

As an aside, Meucci actually finishes with clearcoat over the wrap. So even if it has an Irish linen wrap, it feels as if it was wrapless in your hand. Something to consider in terms of aesthetics if you like the look of the wrap but prefer the feel of wrapless. It’s also worth noting that Budget Billiards will match your Meucci rings on a Predator shaft.

Honestly, they are both going to play very well and you won’t go wrong with either. Pick the one that makes your heart beat just a little bit faster when you look at it…

Get a straight cue. Good tip like Elkmaster. Then put the shaft on it you like if you want to change existing shaft. Maybe you do not want to change shafts and get used to the deflection your existing shaft has. They all have deflection. No such thing as zero deflection. Then practice straight cueing techniques. Forget about name or brand or inlays or any other gibberish. Focus only on fundamentals and straight cueing. Forget about fancy cues. Have fun!!

Mezz.

I'd still chose Jacoby over the Meucci.

Because of quality issues, Meucci needs to have a major change in manufacturing. AND a massive marketing campaign to tell customers that they're actually doing something about it.

Most are saying Jacoby but too bad seyberts removed the black friday deal, but ill find it elsewhere.

But you guys saying jacoby only cause of brand? are you seeing the actual cue? its a cheap one, or does cheap + expensive only do with the looks and all play the same? this is something i've always wondered.

So even if I chose the jacoby which is at $200 it will play great as a $1000 jacoby? or am I mistaken here.

Because if not, then you have to consider that this jacoby im looking at is $200, while the Meucci is a little bit more expensive with a pro shaft.

I heard from a pro that inlays/pointers do make the cue play better,

Gus Szamboti told me the more (bling) he has to put in a cue the harder it is to make it play good.
Gus said it and I believed him.
Ever wonder why a lot of people rave about sneaky petes?
One of the best cues I ever had a chance to play with was a pete made by Ernie Martinez.
I could have bought it but passed.
Between Meucci and Jacoby?
Jacoby all day long.
Meucci quality is still hit or miss.

I have owned many cues Muecci, McDermott, Espiritu, Scruggs, Lambros, OB and Jacoby. None of the cues I have owned play as good as my Jacoby. The Jacoby has a forward balance (that means the cue does most of the work). I own two identical Jacoby cues and the both play the same. A $400 dollar Jacoby does play as well as a $1000 cue. Please do not take my word, call Jacoby and ask about their specifications. All that being said I can play good with a straight house cue with a good tip. Do not over think it. Buy what you can afford and take lessons when you can afford it. You will be happy in the long run.
