Well guys I have worked out the brunt of the details with Dragon Promotions and Charlie Williams.

The amateur side of our event this year will also act as a qualifier for the 2011 World Straight Pool Championships.

Players will be playing for 2 spots into the World Event in New Jersey next year.

I hope this adds something special to the event coming up and brings even more players out.

I look forward to hearing back from everyone to hear your thoughts.

That sounds pretty cool, Charlie. Will the event have to pony up the two entry fees? Probably around $1100 or more. If it is paid entry, i bet it will bring more players out.

Right now I am looking for a sponsor to cover this added expense. We are doing well in the money department so far. I have secured a lot of the same sponsors from last year and some new additions. As it stands now we can at least recreate the same event from last year but I want to try and make it a tad bigger and add two more booths to the mix and at least one more table.

Basically in the end I know I am going to end up putting up more money on my end and hopefully I can find some more monetary sponsors. I am so extremely grateful for all of our product sponsors but right now the biggest thin we can get is money.

This forum is doing a great job thus far with donations and I can't thank you guys enough.

Charlie

Would you be disqualified from winning one of the two amateur spots if you were invited to a past 14.1 World Championship?

No not if you were invited to a past event. I mean lets be clear if your name is Thorsten or Ralph or something then yes we have a problem with you trying to get on the amateur side but I think between the brunt of the people that will be at the booth we will have a good idea of who is who and what side they should be playing on.

Great work, Charlie!

Thank you very much I have been busting my ass to make this event a success and find as many monetary sponsors as I possibly can. It really is a labor of love and I can't say that I would give it up for the world.

How much is the entry fee for the amateur event? I'll be up there Wed-Sunday and would like to try it out.

Right now we are looking at $30.00.

The top two players from the amateur side will of course have a paid entry into the World Straight Pool Championships in 2011.

This is turning out to be a very exciting event this year so far. We are looking at three nine foot diamond Pro Ams with more booth space as well this year.

I can't wait to get there and to start selling those raffles again to get even more money into this event.
