Bobby Hunter is not as well known as Bustamante for example, but at his best he a chance to win every time he stepped to the table, regardless of who it is,esp at 14.1,a magnificent player.
Speaking of draw strokes though, there was a short article every year for a long time in Billiards Digest, where they talked to Bobby about his cue of choice. This was long before he started making cues,as far as I know.
Back then,he somehow lost his cue in an airport incident, and said he found out that he was drawing his ball perhaps 30% further with his current South West than what he was playing with before.
I think in his 1988 Brunswick tv exposure he was playing with a Szamboti,or some other high-end steel jointed cue.
He won the Glass City Open with a steel jointed Joss West with just huge ivory points that looked kinda like an old Schon SL-24. Tommy D.
