Didn't vote but here's my take
Been playing ~3 years and bought a used McDermott made in the early 90s (not the new ones with the crappy shafts). I learned with this cue and found playing with LD shafts much different, and frankly not worth the trouble.
I keep telling myself I should re-learn with my 314-2 because it's newer technology and since I haven't been playing that long. I went through a phase wanting to try many different cues/shafts in a short period.
Now I have a 314-2, a Z-2, Hybrid II shaft, all of which get limited time until I can say for sure I don't want them.
