I have had this in my mind for years! And cannot make this device,,but I think it genius!!

It's up for grabs, but if someone gets it done,,, I want one for free!!! LMAO!!

Its a projection type device that can be hung on a pool table light. And should be able to be adjusted for any size table.
Has a chip in it for loading different type shots,,trick shots or table scenarios. It shines a dot onto the table where the balls should be placed!! And fine lines of light showing directions of ball travel,,if wanted.

Instead of marking the table for different games,,it could put a line(of light) on the table for you. With preset programs. Head and foot spots,,golf,14-1,,,ect.

Could be set up to be hooked up with personal computer and take screen shots from games ,,by the pros(or whatever),being played,, and transfer them to your table!!

Or usb storage,,,SD card??

Could have programs in it to show bank shots,,,and a whole lot more. The list is endless. With lazer type lighting to show the path of the ball.

What do you think of my idea???

Can it be built for a decent price??

Some genius could figure out how all the balls/breaks were for Earles million dollar challenge.(from video) And you know exactly where to place the balls for each rack. Maybe even show you how he played each ball!!
You hit a button for it,,on this device and there it is!! On your table!!

I have thought about something on the same line.
Even bought a couple of lasers .

I was setting everything up mainly for banks kicks and cue ball defection,
My lasers were not near strong enough, my thoughts were to mount a 2 axis CNC upside down and above the table.
First problem is its going to take a number of lasers working all together, from one common point.

IMO yours and my ideas are way off, the system needs to be made or incorporated in the pool table. and I think this has already been done.
The slate would have to be glass or something clear enough to see the thousands of LED lights mounted under the slate.
then the Lights would need to be computer controlled.

Then you have the problem of you are now not shooting on a cloth surface.

Take a simple game and make it even simpler?
OK, OK I know pool is the most difficult game in the world...except most others.

You must be either young and full of yourself or just a troll.

A scoring devise that could reproduce shot scenarios, post results and advertise. The space above the table could be more functional and more valuable than the table itself.

That is a great idea also. The game might be more interesting to novice players if they knew who was playing and what the score was!! It wouldn't even have to be over the table,,,in the background would be fine!!

Some of the matches from the past,,,if they had duct tape on the wall with the score wrote in crayon ,,would have been a huge help!!!

Yes if only someone could find a way to put a score on the screen.
I found this from the future, maybe in 10 years we'll have something like this.

Yes something similar to that. But this is a bit extreme!

Ok I might have got carried away with my description. How about a device that will put dots on your table for different games. And for placing balls for trick shots!!

The lines showing ball travel might be too much to ask.

Device to put dots on table to mark shots.

Although I guess a $300 projector, a $300 installation fee for the rigging and a $300 computer would do the same thing.

What are you going to do with the lights that should be hanging where the projector would be?

There are already some universities that setup these things, including a program to help aim the shot.

Projecting ads on the table has also been done, and is easy to do in production like they do on the walls of stadiums. IPT had their logo on the tables between games.
