A question for Nippon Billiards (X Breaker)

huh indeed?

Purpleheart shaft?!?!?!

Did anyone else notice that? It looks like a graphite cue at first glance.

Me thinks this was meant for a different thread...unless you know something we don't?

Richard may not know or may not chose to comment regarding Charlie.
That is his perogative. Please respect it.

My opinion:

Regardless of the product, there are going to be those that love it or hate it.

Both are entitled to thier opinion.

These are the reasons I am not going to delete the thread or squash *civil* questions and criticism about a product.

Hope this helps.

Dave

Mr. Wilson:
You and I may not always see eye to eye (in fact, I don't think we ever have before) but in this case, I whole-heartedly agree.

I like Richard. He is a true Gentleman to say the list. He is one of the nicest guys that I have met on this forum and certainly very knowledgeable as I truly do feel his X-Breaker is the best break cue made to date! And as far as jumping ability goes, it is second to none!!! Richard is an innovator.

However, there will be those who disagree with my opinions and those who dislike the cue. They are entitled to their opinions provided they are expressed in a civil manner.

And as far as revealing the nature of Hillbilly's and Richard's relationship, anyone who expects Richard to do so is out of line for even asking in the first place.

I believe that Charlie's cues are made by Omega. The one I saw was 14mm, leather wrap and 24oz. I tried it out and thought it was good for the money. They have a Hillbilly Thunder logo on the buttcap. The owner of the place I play has one as well-

I don't think the question was out of line. I don't think a question about a pro repping Nippons cues is out of line. In fact, there is some legitimacy to it. The question is how can a pro who has his own line of cues rep the X-breaker as well? Is he saying that one is better than the other? While I am not as irked as others about the rampant advertisements in the general section- I believe that if you open the door by partaking in the ads then you should only be expected to answer questions about them.

Thank god someone more well spoken than I shares my opinion...

Hey ribdoner...

What the heck is a BALLBUSTA jump/break cue...tell us about that one...

I've retained a group of un-employed NASA engineers and some of the foremost WOODOLIGISTS and challanged them to help me build the ULTIMATE J/B CUE.

We will NOT rush to PRODUCTION. We will do it right the first time. Projected production start-up is early 07.

The BALLBUSTA J/B CUE will be made in the USA in limited quantities.

Our mission is to enable MARY POPPINS to BUST the BALLS and change the way break orientated games are played.

May I suggest that you change the name to "ballabusta" or "ball-a-busta?"

Stay in touch.....you have potential to fill a high profile position on my MARKETING/ADVERTISING TEAM. I've always believed in surrounding myself with people smarter than I and I am humbled in your presence.:)

Impressive!

I am in receipt of the initial designs and look forward to receiving the prototype. I must say that the internal air bladder concept is quite astonising but the way that it is laid out it makes perfect sense. The second design is equally intriguing- I am not sure what difference a pizeoelectric tip/ferrule combination will have.

The inlay work is equally astonishing- is it possible to inlay the pieces so that that the angle of attack on the head ball is correct? I saw that in the instruction manual and it seems logical to use the inlays as markers for the correct approach to pocket the head/wing/ ball. I am not sure how it will function but from the appearance of it- it seems that you would have to rotate the butt on the cue to have the correct markings so that you angle of attack would be in line.

All in all very intriguing. I like the names as well- I think "Thor's Hammer" is a very good name for #2.

The "ballbusta" may be the next big thing.

I would wager, because it stays the same color after the joint, the correct answer is cuetec.
I would wager that WPBA pro Hsin Huang would not be shooting with a Strickland Stick. As far as I know, the only 2 pros that use them are Earl and Allison. Plus it may look like the same color after the joint but I think it may be that orange color option the x breaker comes in.

Also while we are inspecting the photo, if you look at the other side of Hsun Huang's back you can see the very butt end of the cue which seems to have a X Breaker Maximizer on it, further proving that it is a X Breaker.

It is possible that the photo was altered and she was actually demonstrating the new "Ballbusta" cues. I have heard rumors that the first series will be the "Emotion" series- featuring Angry Cocobolo as the first version. Thus it is entirely possible that Hsu is repping the Ballbusta cues, X-Breaker, Hillbilly Thunder and Cue-Tec.

It is NOT a BALLBUSTA. The BALLBUSTA is schl'd for distribution early 07. Due to our highest in the industry quality standards I can't foresee maximum manufacturing capacity exceeding 15 to 20 units per annum. As a result not everyone that wants (or deserves) a BALLBUSTA will be able to get one. If you make the commitment and join our dynamic team you'll find that some of the most difficult, gut wrenching decisions we have to make is who actually receives a BALLBUSTA.

When you think about the implications its an awesome responsibility.

We will have the ability to be instrumental in transforming "c" players to "a" players, "a" players to champions and Mr. MAGOO into REYES by putting this WOMD in their hands.:)

It's not?

I am not sure that I am up to the task. It chillingingly reminds me of a Twilight Zone where a group had to decide who lived and died. Having that much power is an awesome responsibility.

The guilt alone from having to deny some the Ballbusta may be too much for me to bear. When I see a weak breaker in my local room I may be sharked knowing that I am part of an elite cabal that could transmorgify an ordinary mortal into a decibel weilding atom smasher and this knowledge may make me miss an occasional ball.

Nevertheless, I wish to be a part of billiard history and will submit to the emotional and psychic danger that could come from marketing the Ballbusta line of cues. My only hope that we will come to our senses at some point and market them with earplugs to protect the innocent ball bangers who are unluckily situated next to one of our transformed champions.

Hsin used to break with a BK. She then switched to a classic maple X Breaker. She had a maple shaft but she liked the purpleheart shaft I built for her.

Hsin was one of the first professional player using a X Breaker. She used to live very close to my place and we used to see each other all the time in local tournaments and the WPBA. She is now living in Ontario, and has just become the first lady to ever win the 20K Canadian Championship. Hsin also came 4th in the 2004 BCA Championship.

She plays with a pure black ebony Layani cues with a 314 shaft, and breaks with a X Breaker.

Hsin is not a rep of the X Breaker; she is a very good friend. She actually did not know how to call the X Breaker. She kept telling her friends, "huh, my friend Richard made this cue, he is from Vancouver...I am not sure what this is called, sorry...I will ask him next time I see him..." She also did not know how to spell "Layani.":)

You can see Hsin jumping with her X Breaker here, she did a full cue jump, and a jump one ball away.

Hsin is a great player and a very close friend. I am very happy to have known her and have her using a X Breaker. Yes, she is now using a flaming birdseye X Breaker with the maXimizer and a custom purpleheart shaft.

Richard

Maybe this sounds stupid but since she is using a shaft with a different wood type I thought I'd ask. Any idea on why she using a purpleheart shaft??? Better performance then the standard shaft or is it strictly for appearance. I quoted richard's post but any opinions are also certainly welcome. Thanks
