Ok I received my Cameron cue on the 2nd of July 2009 and I feel like I can give a accurate review after a year of constant use. I have broke down my review into four categories that I feel are important when reviewing a custom cue.
1.Transaction-( communication, meeting dead-lines, and integrity)
Barry kept me well informed during the cues production, he finished in a timely manner and he was true to his word. I knew that if he said he was going to do something he would get it done.
2. Quality-
I was impressed with the overall look of the cue and that he put allot of effort into my cue even though it wasn't one of his top of the line fancier models. He paid attention to the details and the finish on my cue was beautiful. Everything fit together very nicely and looked spectacular.
3. Playability-
Ok now this one is the biggy. I know that everyone's taste differs on how a cue should hit so I wont try and tell you it hits like a monster. I will tell you however that right out of the box this cue felt so natural to me, like I had been using it all my life. I told Barry that I was 6'2" and I wanted a longer cue and that I like the 19.5 oz weight and he built me a cue that was so well balanced that I felt like I had been using it for years. It has a firm hit that's balanced with good response. I used this cue last league session and I figured I wouldn't preform as well since I was getting used to a new cue but I couldn't be more wrong! There was no learning curve, in fact my performance went up quite a bit.
Does the cue make me play like a world beater...NO, not yet anyway! But its consistency has allowed me to improve my game considerably. When Barry says he takes your game as serious as you do, he means it.
4. Price-
I believe that his price is very reasonable. I shopped around a bit before I settled on Cameron Cues and most places were at least a few hundred dollars higher for the same type of cue. Add to that the quality and good customer service and I think he would be hard to beat.
Long story short I would buy from him again and I recommend him highly. If anyone has any questions about this review feel free to reply here or PM me
Barry, if your reading this, thanks for making me a great cue. It has a permanent spot in my cue case as my main player.
