A sad night :(

So he sells you the cue. You gonna take it with you and cart a 1 piece cue around every time you go play? Or were you expecting the owner to keep up with your cue when your not there? I can see him thinking that the caretaking of your cue was worth anything close to the $50 you offered.

I stand corrected. The individual I was referring to was terminated some time ago.

I've known the owner (non-pool related business) for apprx. 30 yrs and we've established a good relashonship these last few. He's taken some DEVASTATING hits in his personel life and I'm not sure how many of us could walk in his shoes.
 
I know what I would do. I'd go buy two house cues with the $50. I'd then go in and offer to trade him those two cues for the one you want. If he still says no, I'd just go ahead and give him the two cues and tell him you hope you didn't do anything wrong or hurt his feelings in any way. If he has any compassion, the cue you want should be yours after a few more visits.
